Cheap flights to Port Elizabeth

Picturesquely set along the coastline of the Algoa Bay, Port Elizabeth is rich in history, nature and scenery. Providing a more tranquil atmosphere than other cities in South Africa, it is popular with tourists looking for the opportunity to relax.

Things to see and do:
-The beaches-Met by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, Port Elizabeth provides an ideal place for all beach activities. For those looking for something more extreme, the famous surf spot, ‘Jeffrey’s Bay’ is only an hour away.
- Oceanarium-The oceanarium provides the opportunity to experience much of the ocean’s life, from sharks to dolphins to seahorses. The Port Elizabeth Museum is situated next door and is well worth a look if you want to immerse yourself in the fascinating history of the city.
-Nature-Much like the rest of South Africa, Port Elizabeth has a diverse range of nature parks. Game watching is popular with visitors to the city and is something to be appreciated by anyone.

Getting there: Port Elizabeth has its own airport, approximately 25km from the city centre, though direct international flights are not so regular. Therefore it may be necessary to fly to Johannesburg first. A taxi service is available from the city’s airport and a shuttle bus service runs to the main international hotels.

Location and weather: Located between Cape Town and Durban on the Indian Ocean, the city is sunny and warm between December and May with temperatures reaching 26 degrees Celsius. The winter months are not so kind however and can get much colder.

Top tip: If water sports are your passion, visit the city over Easter when it is home to the annual ‘Splash’ festival.
