Cornwall is a county in the South West of the country famous for sun, sea and of course surf. Cornwall is very popular with young people due to the adventure it holds but is also great for a family holiday or romantic getaway.
Things to do and see:
- Beaches – Cornwall is surrounded by the sea and as such boasts miles and miles of beautiful coastline. Head down to Newquay, St Ives or Bude’s beach for some of Cornwall’s best.
- The Eden Project - Opened in 2001, the Eden Project is fast becoming one of Cornwall’s most popular attractions. The project is a great way to take a look at the world we live in and the role we play within it.
- Hot Air Balloon - Why not take a trip in a hot air balloon to capture some of the sites of the West. Many companies offer Champagne and other refreshments during the ride.
- Surf - Surrounded by water Cornwall has become a surfers paradise. Surfing is for all ages and abilities however and you can find instruction and surf gear for hire in Cornwall.
Getting there: The local airport serving Cornwall is located in Newquay and is served by excellent bus services.
Location and weather: Cornwall has the most southerly and westerly point of mainland Britain. It has the some of the warmest weather in England and over 1500 hours of sunshine annually.
Top tip: Cornwall is full of glorious countryside, head away from the beach for a few days and enjoy some walking, cycling or hiking.
