The great thing about Bristol is that it’s a city of conundrums with the old meeting the new, the past meeting the present and the coast, countryside and city all easily accessible. Bristol is an immense city to visit and is a great place to spend an interesting and enjoyable few days.
Things to do and see:
- Bristol Zoo Gardens – Open every day, the Bristol Zoo Gardens are a great place for all the family to visit. The Zoo features an award winning Seal and Penguin Coast in which you can have direct contact with the animals through transparent waterways.
- Cheddar Caves – Have an exciting outdoor adventure and try abseiling down the cliffs of the infamous Cheddar George. Alternatively explore the caves of Cheddar.
- Theatre – The Bristol Old Vic Theatre is one of the big names on the British theatre scene so whilst in Bristol it would be a true shame not to check out what is currently showing and go and catch a show.
- The Clifton Suspension Bridge – The Clifton Suspension Bridge is the famous creation of the great Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Guided tours of the Bridge are available.
Getting there: Bristol International Airport is located 8 miles South of Bristol City Centre. There is a bus service which connect the airport with the city and taxi’s are available at the arrivals gate.
Location and weather: Bristol is located in the South West of England and is England’s 8th city. Bristol is in the warmer half of the UK and temperatures are on average 19˚C in the summer months.
