Cheap flights to Sicily

Mountains, beaches and an awesome volcano are just three reasons to visit this beautiful island, though they alone are enough to keep visitors interested. The combination of history, culture, stunning landscapes and a comfortable climate ensure that Sicily is never short of tourists.

Things to see and do:
-Mount Etna-One of Sicily’s most popular attractions and yet most natural, this volcano is one of the island’s most stunning sights. All around the volcano there are also various walks available, enabling visitors to absorb the beautiful scenery.
-Palermo-Cafes, restaurants, galleries and museums all contribute to the growing popularity of Palermo, the island’s capital. Its busy, hectic atmosphere may not be suited to everyone’s taste but it certainly offers a real taste of Sicilian life.
-Taormina-Perhaps Sicily’s most popular city with tourists, Taormina has plenty to do and is well worth a visit when on the island. Particularly popular for its shopping, it has boutiques selling all manner of things from jewellery to crafts. The city also offers a fantastic view of Mount Etna.

Getting there: The two main airports in Sicily are Catania and Palermo. The latter is most frequently served by international flights and is situated approximately 30km from the city centre. At peak times a train runs directly from the airport to the city every half an hour.

Location and weather: Often referred to as the ball being kicked by the Italian boot, Sicily is an island just south west of mainland Italy. It has a mild climate with summer temperatures reaching 28 degrees Celsius and not dropping too much in the Autumn when the sun continues to shine.

Top tip: Sicilians tend to embrace the slow way of life and often many businesses close between the hours of 1pm and 4pm.
