Cheap Flights to Naples

A beautiful, compact historical city founded by the Greeks and later built on by the Romans. Known for the loaming presence of Mount Vesuvius and the pretty Bay of Naples this city is one of Italy’s most colourful, active and attractive. Despite its beauty there is an undercurrent of seediness with crime, grime and energetic noise.

Things to see and do: Acquario- one of the oldest aquariums in Europe is home to over 200 different species of fish and marine life. Teatro San Carlo – weekend guided tours around this stunning theatre are held in the afternoons. Tickets to a performance are quite tricky to obtain although your hotel may be able to source them for you. Museo Archeologico Nazionale – a collection of Graeco-Roman archaeological artifacts. Markets – adding to Naples bustling vibe are the assorted markets. You’ll find flower stalls, second hand goods, fresh foods and Italian delicacies as well as general household items and clothing.

Getting there: The airport (Capodichino Airportis) is 7km from Naples city centre. From here you can hop on a bus, pick up a taxi or if you are planning on doing some impulsive sightseeing you can hire a car.

Location and weather: Naples is on the west coast of Italy’s boot close to the islands Capri, Ischia and Procida. The climate is as you would expect, sunny and hot in the summer months and cooler and damper in the winter. Late spring, early summer is a great time to visit and September if only to experience the Pizza festival!

Top tip: Check what events and festivals are going on before booking your flight either to avoid missing out on the goings on or to avoid the congestion.
