Cheap Flights to Cologne

 

With the tempting offer of fantastic food and thirst quenching beer, Cologne is one of the most welcoming cities in Germany. Everything about this city can be described as stunning, from the theatres to the nightlife to the opulent architecture.

Things to see and do:
-Old Town-Although not very big, the old town of Cologne is ideal for a quiet and relaxed day. Browse through the quaint shops or sit by the harbour for a drink, this area of the city is perfect for people-watching and reflection.
- Rhine River-The river supplies the perfect opportunity for a stroll along its banks, taking time to watch the many boats that still use it. River tours are also available and are an ideal way to look at the city.
- Imhoff Stollwerck Chocolate Museum-One of the World’s largest producers of chocolate, Germany is an ideal place to visit a chocolate factory! Watch it being made, learn about its history and then sample the end result, it certainly makes for a good day out.

Getting there: Koln-Bonn Airport connects to most major European cities and so is the best place to fly to. Trains are the main form of public transport here and are very reliable and have connections to cities all over Germany.

Location and weather: Not getting too hot in the summer, Cologne is best visited around July and August when temperatures are at a pleasant 24 degrees Celsius. Winter tends to be quite cold but not as wet as the summer months.

Top tip: Many shops close for a couple of hours at around midday.
