Cheap UK flights to Cyprus - attractions
With the southern, Greek half of the island (the Republic of Cyprus) having recently joined the EU, and both the Turkish and Greek areas enjoying relatively peaceful relations recently, now is an excellent time to visit this beautiful Mediterranean island. The weather is fantastic, and it’s a well-established destination for Britons looking for holidays as well as those looking to snap up villas, hotels and other property for sale and for rent. Cyprus is also rich in history and culture, having been influenced and occupied by Greeks, Romans, Christians and Muslims over the centuries. Food
A quick look at the map will tell you that Cypriot cuisine blends Greek, Turkish and other Middle Eastern flavours. Seafood features heavily, and if you’re lucky (and venture out of your hotel restaurant) you may get a taste of a wide range of Cypriot dishes in one go by way of meze (‘little delicacies’) – similar to Spanish tapas, but served in even greater quantity.
Climate
The weather in Cyprus is warm and sunny: perfect for basking in the Mediterranean sun for most of the year. The mercury rarely dips below 30 in the summer months, while in the winter the temperature only occasionally falls into single figures.
Currency
Cypriot pound (Greek area) and Turkish Lira (Turkish area)

Both Larnaca and Paphos have regular international arrivals and departures, and a flight to Cyprus from the UK should cost somewhere between £150 and £200, although it might be possible to get something cheaper at the last minute.
